In 2020, Dr. Bandini successfully completed the Residency in Urology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (summa cum laude). He was mentored by Prof. Francesco Montorsi, Prof. Alberto Briganti, Prof. Andrea Necchi and Prof. Andrea Salonia.
Research fellowship at
CR-CHUM in Montréal, Canada
Between January 2017 and January 2018, Dr. Bandini completed a fellowship in onco-epidemiology, statistics and evaluation research at Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CR-CHUM) in Canada. He worked together with numerous international researchers led by Prof. Pierre Karakiewicz, head of the research unit.
Fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the Sava Perović Foundation in Belgrade, Serbia
Between March 2018 and March 2019, Dr. Bandini completed a fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the Sava Perović Foundation in Belgrade, Serbia. He worked closely with Dr. Radoš Đinovic, assisting him in over 200 pediatric and adult reconstructive procedures focusing his surgical and scientific activities on hypospadias, bladder-exstrophy epispadias complex, penile and bulbar urethral stricture, Peyronie disease, penile prosthesis implant, and transgender surgery.
Fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the Centro Chirurgico Toscano, Arezzo, Italy
Between June 2019 and December 2020, Dr. Bandini completed a fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the Centro Chirurgico Toscano in Arezzo, Italy. He was trained by Prof. Guido Barbagli on urethral stricture disease assisting him in more than 50 bulbar and penile urethroplasties. He also collaborated with the research committee of the center for several scientific publications. This collaboration with Prof. Barbagli and the Centro Chirurgico Toscano continues today as Dr. Bandini is a member of the institute's research committee.
Fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the Kulkarni Endo-surgery Institute, Maharashtra, Pune, India
Between January 2021 and March 2022, Dr. Bandini completed a fellowship in genitourinary reconstructive surgery at the Kulkarni Endo-surgery Institute, Maharashtra, Pune, in India. He was mentored by Dr. Sanjay B. Kulkarni and Dr. Pankaj Joshi in reconstructive urology and he had the opportunity to learn the principles of the Kulkarni’s technique for urethroplasty gaining confidence on urethral reconstruction with grafts and flaps and on surgical repair of the urethral stenosis after pelvic fracture.
PhD at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Urological Research Institute (URI), Milan, Italy
In January 2023, Dr. Bandini achieved his PhD degree (summa cum laude) on Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. He was supervised by his mentor Prof Alberto Briganti from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and by Prof. Christopher Evans from the University of California, Davis Medical Center. His project focused on prostate cancer and it was entitled “Development of a novel signature integrating clinical, imaging and epigenetic information to tailor pelvic nodal treatment in prostate cancer”.
