Optilume is a groundbreaking device for managing recurrent anterior urethral strictures less than 3 cm in length. It combines mechanical dilation with a drug-coated balloon delivering paclitaxel, an antiproliferative agent that reduces the risk of recurrence.

This minimally invasive procedure takes less than 30 minutes and can be performed under spinal anesthesia or sedation. During treatment, a balloon catheter is inserted into the urethra, dilated to restore the urethral lumen, and simultaneously delivers the drug to the treated tissue.

Optilume provides an innovative and effective solution for patients with strictures resistant to traditional treatments, improving long-term outcomes and reducing the risk of complications.
