There are several possible complications after hypospadias surgery. Examples of postoperative complications include fistulae, glans dehiscence, diverticulum, hematoma, residual curvature, urethral stricture, residual hypospadias, skin necrosis, lymphoedema, meatal stenosis and meatal dehiscence.

Many times, the complication require a redo-surgery to fix the problem. Redo surgery can be a simple procedure as it happens for fistulae closure or very complex in case of redo-urethroplasty when urethral dehiscence occurs. In general, it is better to refer to the same doctor who perform the previous surgery if complications occur.
